About CASA

The Centre Against Sexual Assault - Loddon Campaspe Region (CASA) responds to the needs of both recent and past survivors of sexual assault. Equally important is our role of advocating for change in the social, economic, medical, political and legal systems. We believe that is a necessary step towards the prevention and elimination of violence against all people particularly women and children.

CASA Philosophy

Sexual Assault occurs in a social and political context reflecting and reinforcing the power imbalance in our society, in particular the relatively limited power held by women and children.

Responsibility for the problem of sexual assault resides with the whole community: It is more than an individual or private problem

The whole of society needs to change so that sexual assault is no longer an accepted part of the society.

Disclaimer: Whilst the majority of sexual assaults are against women by men, sexual assault also happens to males. This web page is predominantly written using the feminine form and we ask males to transpose to the masculine from. In addition, a Counsellor/Advocate from CASA can provide:
  • Provides support and information to your family and friends
  • Liase with police at your request
  • Refer you to appropriate services
